KZ-4363 : Data Governance Consultant

Do you have experience of providing data governance expertise, in a large-scale data governance environment defining and implementing data standards and policies?

This consulting opportunity is to support our client, a leading pharmaceuticals organisation, in defining, implementing and aligning data governance policies, standards and frameworks. The role focuses on improving data quality, compliance and governance performance across business areas and data teams.

The project needs a consultant who has:

  • proven experience in data governance roles within large-scale data environments, ideally within pharmaceuticals
  • strong stakeholder engagement across business and technical teams
  • experience defining and implementing data standards and policies
  • understanding of data quality, data protection and governance practices

Key Services

The key services that you will be asked to provide are:

  • define and implement data governance principles, policies and standards
  • develop and track data governance performance indicators and quality metrics
  • collaborate with business areas and data teams to improve data quality and value
  • act as subject matter expert for data governance across stakeholders
  • align governance policies and standards across multiple data offices
  • produce progress reporting and communications for senior stakeholders
  • support development of data standards and policies across cross-functional teams
  • contribute to evolving data governance practices including AI-enabled approaches

Mandatory Requirements

Successful consultants will be able to demonstrate:

  • experience in data governance roles delivering standards and policy implementation
  • experience working within large-scale data governance teams
  • experience with data quality and data protection management practices, ideally with a pharmaceuticals data focus
  • ability to manage cross-departmental initiatives and competing priorities
  • strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Optional Requirements

It will also be advantageous if you have:

  • familiarity with data technologies including databases, data lakes and warehousing
  • domain-level understanding of data structures and provenance
  • experience working with regulatory requirements and emerging data trends
  • experience working in agile multi-location data teams

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days a week in Cheshire
