KZ-4319; Solution Architect - Confluent Cloud Kafka

Do you have experience in providing Solution Architecture expertise on a Global Data Programme?

This consulting opportunity is to support our client, a leading Insurance company, with the project needing a consultant who can provide:

  • Strong architecture expertise across real-time data streaming (Confluent Cloud Kafka), AWS-hosted APIs, and hybrid cloud/on-premise integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with CDC tools (e.g., Qlik Replicate or similar) and integrating mainframe and cloud database technologies in complex enterprise environments.
  • A confident communication style able to present and defend solution designs at senior governance forums.

 

Key services:

The key services that you will be asked to provide are:

  • Solution architecture leadership for a Global Data project, designing and communicating end-to-end solutions and ensuring development aligns with approved architectures.
  • Evaluate technology options through gap analyses, cost/benefit assessments, and proofs-of-concept, preparing Key Decision Documents and guiding solutions through governance processes, including the TDA.
  • Support project and resource planning while managing risks and issues effectively throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with business and procurement teams to assess and select packaged solutions and operating models, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous technology improvement.

 

Mandatory Requirements:

Successful consultants will be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Confluent Cloud Kafka.
  • Experience architecting and designing AWS-hosted APIs.
  • Practical experience deploying and operating CDC tools, ideally Qlik Replicate or similar.
  • Experience preparing and presenting architectural designs at governance forums.
  • Knowledge of AWS networking, including cloud-to-on-premise routing.
  • Knowledge of cloud database technologies and mainframe data integration.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments (Scrum/Kanban).

 

Optional Requirements:

It will also be advantageous if you have:

  • Experience in the insurance or broader financial services sector.
  • Exposure to MongoDB and hybrid data streaming architectures.
  • Familiarity with enterprise governance processes and large-scale transformation programmes.

 

Working Pattern: London/ Cardiff or Remote (UK Based)
