B2E Consulting is supporting a leading Financial Services client delivering a £100m+ federated AWS migration programme. We are seeking a Director level Programme Governance Lead from a strong finance background to stabilise, challenge and reshape programme governance and financial oversight, ensuring the programme’s business model, funding strategy and financial trajectory remain robust, credible and aligned to executive expectations.
The successful consultant will work closely with the programme’s Finance Lead, CIO organisation and Transformation leadership to provide robust financial control, forward planning and executive-level insight.
This project requires a consultant who has:
- director-level experience leading governance within large-scale (£100m+) technology transformation programmes
- strong finance background with deep commercial acumen
- proven experience owning and driving the development of complex, multi-year business cases
- experience leading the refresh or restructuring of an established programme financial model.
Key services:
The key services that you will be asked to provide are:
- Lead the refresh and revalidation of a three-year programme business model that is no longer fit for purpose
- Drive ownership and development of the overarching transformation business case
- Provide rigorous challenge to assumptions, cost drivers and investment phasing
- Model future consumption scenarios and identify financial and operational levers
- Develop high-quality executive slide decks and board-level reporting materials
- Present financial and governance insights clearly to ExCo / senior management
- Support and influence departmental restructuring where required
- Identify structural issues and implement pragmatic corrective actions.
- Act as a senior “problem solver”— bringing clarity, pace and discipline to complex governance challenges
Mandatory Requirements:
Successful consultants will be able to demonstrate:
- Director-level experience leading governance within large-scale (£100m+) technology transformation programmes
- Experience operating in complex, regulated Financial Services environments
- Strong finance background with deep commercial acumen
- Proven experience owning and driving the development of complex, multi-year business cases
- Experience leading the refresh or restructuring of an established programme financial model
- Demonstrable involvement in organisational or departmental restructuring initiatives
- Exceptional executive communication skills, including development of board-grade slide decks
- Credibility and confidence operating with, and constructively challenging, senior leadership
- Excellent problem solving capability
- Strong numerical capability, including modelling future cost and consumption scenarios
- A background from a Big 4 Consulting firm.
Optional Requirements:
It will also be advantageous if you have:
- Experience strengthening or resetting programme governance mid-flight
- Exposure to portfolio-level prioritisation and funding trade-offs
