CT-4312; Data Scientist, Python/SPLINK

Do you have experience of providing Data Science expertise for complex large datasets?

B2E Consulting is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join a leading Financial Services client. The successful candidate will bring substantial expertise in entity resolution, probabilistic and deterministic matching, and the delivery of production-ready solutions for large-scale, complex datasets. This is a senior consultant role requiring 5–7 years of experience within data science and familiarity with the challenges faced by financial services and regulatory organisations.

The project needs a consultant who has:

  • 5–7 years’ experience in data science, analytics, or a closely related field.
  • Strong experience in entity resolution, record linkage, or matching algorithms.
  • Proficiency in probabilistic and deterministic matching techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and data science libraries; Splink experience preferred.

Key services:

The key services that you will be asked to provide are:

  • Design, develop, and optimise entity resolution models using Splink.
  • Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to improve record-matching accuracy.
  • Deliver robust, scalable solutions to link records across diverse datasets.
  • Work with the delivery team to implement models and associated productionised services.
  • Validate and document methodologies to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to integrate solutions into production environments.
  • Contribute to project planning and provide technical expertise across multiple relevant projects.

Mandatory Requirements:

Successful consultants will be able to demonstrate:

  • 5–7 years’ experience in data science, analytics, or a closely related field.
  • Strong experience in entity resolution, record linkage, or matching algorithms.
  • Proficiency in probabilistic and deterministic matching techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and data science libraries; Splink experience preferred.
  • Experience working on financial services or regulatory projects, with an understanding of their specific data challenges.
  • Proven track record of delivering production-ready solutions in complex, large-scale datasets.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills to convey methodologies clearly.

Optional Requirements:

It will also be advantageous if you have:

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of other machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Exposure to data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience in mentoring or leading junior data scientists or consultants.
